Professional Ethics
General points to be considered:
- Therapists should respect each other
- Therapists should respect other professional bodies
- Therapists must present a professional front to the clients
- Therapists working in the same salon must agree to carry out the same treatments in the same manner
- The therapist should not accept any client for a treatment who are currently receiving treatment elsewhere, unless permission is obtained from the other therapist.
- On leaving employment with a particular salon do not try to entice customers away from your former employer and do not go into business in the same neighbourhood
- The therapist should strive to have a good understanding with others in the beauty industry by attending beauty exhibitions and talking to other professionals
- A therapist must never attempt to treat clients with a medical condition without a doctors permission
- A therapist must always give his/her client their full attention and the best possible treatment they are capable of
- A therapist must always accept a person as a client regardless of colour, creed or personal circumstances
- In a nut shell, do not lower standards, seek to improve knowledge and be proud of your profession
